The famous Selfoss tree

A story in Iceland Monitor features the Icelandic Forestry Association's pick as Tree of the Year.

One of the things I always look out for when I'm travelling through Selfoss is a tree (on the left if heading away from Reykjavik - on the right when heading back...) in the middle of the river as you cross the bridge.

Jóruklettur rock, a rocky island in the Ölfusá river near Selfoss is the location of the tree.

I've been looking through my pictures to see if I can find one that I have taken of the tree but couldn't find one.

Look out for it next time you are passing through...
