New eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula

New activity started this morning in the Sundhnúkagígar area of the Reykjanes peninsula.

Some people were on the scene quickly with drones.

The Blue Lagoon area was evacuated.

The Icelandic Meteorological Office said in a statement that an eruptive fissure in southwestern Iceland is 700 to 1,000 metres (765 to 1,095 yards) long.
