Fifteen years ago today saw the start of the eruptions that would become a major problem for European travellers.
The eruption at Eyjafjallajökull started on the 14th of April, and by the 15th of April airports began to close.
The volcano sits beneath a glacier and can be seen to the right of the image below, which I took in October 2010.
