The floor is (now) lava

Some new imagery shows the scale of the lava that has emerged from the sequence of eruptions close to Svartsengi.

Remember that the Icelandic word for lava is hraun.

The company Loftmyndir ehf. measured the volume and area of ​​the lava at GrindavĂ­k and published images that clearly show the flow and quantity of the lava.

The company specialises in, among other things, aerial photography, creating maps and land models. The new photos were published on the company's Facebook page.

Meanwhile there are signs that the eruption may emerge once again before long.
