Hot Stuff memorial

There's a pull in off the Reykjanesbraut where the 43 road heads south towards the Blue Lagoon - a road which is now built over a lava flow. There's a memorial here.

At the moment, it's a reasonable spot to watch the ongoing eruption as it's slightly higher.

Hot Stuff was the name of a B-42 bomber which crashed into a peak at Fagradasfjall on the 3rd of May 1943.

The monument opened on May 3rd, 2018, 75 years after the accident. The monument it is located close to the intersection of road nr. 41 and road nr. 43 at Reykjanes Peninsula.
