New eruption on Reykjanes

We're just over a week into the latest eruption on the same fissure line as the previous two eruptions close to the peak called Keilir, which is visible when driving down the main Reykjanesbraut into Reykjavik having arrived at Keflavik airport.

The fissure opened up, and lava headed SW towards the existing lavas, with some models suggesting that they would reach the southern coast road within a month if the volume of lava continued the same.

Some excellent drone and other footage emerged.

Ben Hennig has been tracking the activity and creating maps of the eruption site, using data collected from the University of Iceland.
