Healing the Land

Roger Crofts is a geographer I have met a few times who is associated with the Scottish Association of Geography Teachers and worked with a wide range of organisations in academic contexts for many decades. 

While looking for something else I came across a book he had co-written which explores the landscape of Iceland.

Although the book came out quite a while ago, it is well worth a look.

The book features a number of excellent rhymes from the past, describing the landscape and its problems for residents, particularly when the lack of vegetation led to sand problems.
