Dec 3: Gluggaveður

As the winter arrives, those in Iceland will be getting used to more gluggaveður.

This is a term meaning "window weather": weather that it is OK to look at through the window, but not to be out in. Sometimes it draws you out with the sunshine, which hides the bitter temperatures that you will actually experience when you step outside.

Despite sub-zero temperatures, the water is not frozen because of geothermal water coming into this nature reserve in front of one of the University buildings.
