Entering the final month of an unprecedented year, and the final 31 posts on the blog, until I next visit Iceland again, which I hope will be some time in 2021.
Feel free to send through your own ideas as we enter advent. We will be featuring the traditional Yule Lads as we get nearer to Christmas Day itself, although it is on Christmas Eve that many of the celebrations will take place.
Not to be confused with the official Independence Day on 17 June, Independence Day is celebrated on the 1st of December, to recognise Iceland’s declaration of independence from Denmark in 1918. It is not an official holiday.
