Nov 19: 66 North

The 'Suitcase' magazine Vol 31 features an interview with Matthew Woolsey, Global President of 66 North.

Hans Kristjansson founded the company in the early 20th Century, and they state they have been "keeping Iceland warm since 1926".

Probably my most work item of clothing is a 66 North Fleece I bought nearly 10 years ago, and is still going strong, and extremely comfortable. Apparently 95% of technical outwear worn by Icelanders is sold by 66 North, which is surprising. The Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (previously featured on this blog) wear their clothing.

Matthew talks about the close connection between the landscape of Iceland and the design of the clothing, which include colour influences. He also recommends Andr Snaer Magnason's book "On Time and Water" which I have previously blogged about.
