Nov 12: Surtsey

I have blogged about Surtsey before, and the island which arrived off the coast of Iceland following a volcanic eruption in 1963.

This tweet provoked a number of replies with memories of the original eruption and a fascination with the island itself.

The clip below is from the 'Savage Earth' website, which I remember watching some years ago... the quality is not great, but it's an interesting historical document.
