Ben Hennig has shared more information on the earthquake that happened yesterday.
Reports about how it compares in recent history are contradictory. One prof here says it's been the strongest since the late 60s, other reports say the strongest in the region since digital records began in the 90s, but it definitely was one of the stronger ones in Iceland which is less well known for the really big ones, so 5.6 (or around that) is quite unusual.
Items were thrown off the shelves of supermarkets.
