An Iceland Review piece explores the changing cost of food if it is bought in different shops around Iceland, particularly in some of the more remote rural areas.
The Survey was carried out by ASI: the Icelandic Confederation of Labour.
Details can be read here.
Iceland is not a cheap place to purchase food anyway, but there are obviously issues with sourcing and connecting these shops to the delivery network when they may be over a day's travelling away from Reykjavik. Choice may also be limited in rural areas: if the local store raises its prices there are few alternatives which can be used instead.
It reminded me of this story about the price of Skyr.
