Sep 18: Auden in Iceland

From one of the poems that W H Auden wrote during his trip to Iceland.

I’ve learned to ride, at least to ride a pony,
Taken a lot of healthy exercise,
On barren mountains and in valleys stony,
I’ve tasted a hot spring (a taste was wise),
And foods a man remembers till he dies.
All things considered, I consider Iceland,
Apart from Reykjavík, a very nice land.

As featured in 'Moon Country' by Simon Armitage and Glyn Maxwell.

I had a Wordpress blog called "Iceland: a nice land", and hadn't realised that I subliminally might have taken it from this poem...
