Jul 7: Cicerone Walking and Trekking Iceland Guide

This is one of a series of guides which is designed for those wanting to challenge themselves a little when they visit.

This volume features 100 walks and multi-day treks in Iceland from the fairly easy to the more strenuous. It's something to dream about during lockdown, with images and maps and descriptions of the amazing landscapes of the interior of Iceland. There are some classic treks in here alongside day walks. They are located all over the country, with useful maps and images to ensure you keep on the right track.

It is a handy pocket-plus size and with a plastic cover to protect it from showers and will provide plenty of inspiration for a challenge, or to see the landscape from different perspectives.

There is also a useful section at the back which provides a glossary of place-name elements. The combination of particular elements can help you understand why places are named after they are. Like many Scottish Gaelic names for peaks in the Highlands, they essentially describe the feature. These place name elements form part of some future blog posts for you to find out more.
