Jul 22: Iceland staycations going well

Campsites around Iceland are filling up as Icelanders are staying put this summer, partly to support local industries.
Part of this is down to the reduced limits on gatherings, which is a maximum of 500 people. Some popular campsites are already booked up and turning people away.
There are plenty of campsites available of course beyond the obvious tourist locations.

Icelanders have also taken advantage of the free vouchers for domestic tourism that were made available, and apparently over 40 000 people have already taken up the offer.
