Jul 21: Sæluhús

Another tipoff from Alda Sigmunsdottir, who is well worth following on her Facebook page.
I have a post in draft about the Icelandic emergency services, and the involvement of many people in volunteering and spending time learning skills ready to help should help be required.
Alda talks about sæluhús. These are emergency shelters in remote areas, a little like the bothies of Scotland, or the refuges in the Alps.

They are refuge houses and can be found on trails such as the Landmannalaugar Trail.
Another one here.
