May 12: Icelandic Books The Little Book of Tourists in Iceland

This is one of several books written and published by Alda Sigmundsdottir.
They are published in a handy size for your rucksack pocket and easy to read.

Getting access to these books could potentially save you some cultural embarrassment, and help avoid making some unfortunate faux pas. There are plenty of blog posts on tourist behaviour, but this explains the things that tourists tend to do which have an impact other than they intended perhaps.

It's worth following Alda on Facebook as she shares news of Iceland, particularly at the moment during lockdown.

Other books by Alda which you may want to take a look at and purchase in readiness for your eventual return are also available, and I'm sure it would be helpful if you could buy them now if you are planning a future trip to the country. They can be purchased from many locations in Iceland of course, as well as via online shops.

Alda runs Little Books Publishing, which is based in Reykajavik, and publishes her books in English, as well as French and German in some cases.

Check out all the other books here, along with suggestions for the best way to get hold of them.
