Ben Fogle visited the island as part of his series called 'New lives in the Wild' and spent some time in the Yurts.

Hakon, who owns the business moved to the island in 2015, and hosts tourists in Mongolian yurts and shows them around the island during the high season. For energy, he relies on windmill and solar panels, and even designed and installed an underground water system for his house.

The Þjórsá river bank is only a 90 minute drive from Keflavik Airport which is connected to major international airports in Europe and N-America. 
When you get there the owner and single inhabitant, Hakon, welcomes you with his sheep-dog Skuggi (Shadow), and brings you over on a 3-4 minute boat trip.
