Jan 9: National Geographic Photo Gallery

Check out this National Geographic gallery of 20 images of Iceland's amazing landscape.

It is not difficult to take a decent picture in Iceland - just point your camera at the landscape.

Here's one of mine from 2010, showing the Skoga River cutting down through layers of ash from the Eyjafjallajokull eruption and exposing tephra and other rocks.

I'd love to showcase some of your own favourite images of Iceland's landscape: whether rural or urban. Here's one of mine from the viewing platform at the top of Hallgrimskirkja church tower, for example.

Feel free to send me images that you're particularly proud of, and I'll put them together in a Flickr album and share them more widely. You can join my Flickr group called Fieldnotes from Iceland and add your own images directly if you have a Flickr account - they're free.
